Types of Bicycle Guide

There are many types of bikes, as there are places to ride and the terrain to ride. The three largest and most broad categories are mountain bikes, road bikes and leisure bikes. As in almost all aspects of cycling, the three categories are divided into many subcategories. There are city bikes and comfort bikes. There are hybrids and BMX bikes. And there are bikes that categories beyond creating their own niche.

The best bike are designed with one purpose in mind. Every detail and every item is made with the highest standards for a single function. These bikes best adapt to the major categories, including road and mountain bikes. A typical road bike is designed to be mounted on the road. Is done to smooth pavement and long distances. Your typical MTB is designed to be mounted off-road exclusively. It is optimized for varied terrain and inclines Descents and adapted to slightly slower speeds and shorter distances. From there you can reach more specialized machines (eg weather trials and road bikes downhill mountain bikes).

Road Bikes
The term "bike path" is typically used to describe a road bike "racing" or a bicycle optimized for mounting on the road at high speed over long distances, with few features additional. A more general and perhaps more precise, the definition of a road bike would be any type of bicycle that is designed to be mounted especially on the road, regardless of the composition of the bicycle itself. For our purposes, we use the industry definition of a retail bike road, being primarily a road racing bike. When you see an ad for a road bike will normally see a bike built around 700c wheels with tires thin and calipers dual pivot. Will drop bars with aero brake levers and designed for an aerodynamic enough, extended position, on horseback, as we will see the type of bike in the Tour de France or local road race.

Mountain bike
The type of bike designed to be mounted off-road refers as a mountain bike. " These bikes generally have 26-inch wheels, handlebars flat, wide, knobby tires, and less leverage to use off road. Most mountain bikes built today have an aluminum alloy frame, front suspension fork, 9-speed rear cassette and three plates in the front. Or have disc brakes or linear pull V-type brakes. Once again, there are variations to all features of MTB, but this is a good broad description of what you see in the ads as a mountain bike.

Bike commuter
In ultra-green-to-day Today, ultra-active society, people are looking more and more ways to help the environment and live a healthier life. With a bicycle for transportation is a good way to achieve these goals and save money while doing it. bikes are designed for typical commuter road varied qualities and maneuverability in the city and traffic. While many different styles of bicycles are made, everyone should have some key features: ability to defend, bad weather, lights security, good riding position for comfort and speed, the right tires for possible bad roads and off-road routes, and cargo space to carry essentials.

Fixed gear / track / SS
"Track bikes" have become synonymous with fixed gear and sometimes rides a single speed. This has become one of the misnomers more common in cycling today. All true track bikes are designed to be mounted at the Velodrome. They are designed no brakes, very tight clearances, upright and rigid angles, lower bottom bracket, and a single gear, fixed. A fixed "gear" bike can be constructed using any type of frame, a single dish and a single piece, set at the rear axle. Can be a mountain bike, bicycle, bicycle road or harvest any bike. The only requirement is to have a fixed rate. A speed "only" is just that: a bike with a single speed. A SS is usually a bicycle with a freewheel on the rear axle only allowing the wheels to roll forward independent of the rods. Technically, bike track and "fixies" are both speeds alone.
