Maxx Double

I was double-charged for an item at TJ Maxx while on a trip. Can I have the charge fixed at my local store?

I was visiting a friend who lives a little over two hours away from me and I bought a couple of things in a hurry at TJ Maxx. I didn’t notice until I got home that I was charged twice for an item. Everything is still tagged and in the bag. I was wondering if I can take the receipt to my local TJ Maxx store tomorrow, or call their headquarters and get the money put back on my card. I don’t think it’s fair for me to have to drive 2 hours for them to fix something one of their employees did wrong.
The same item was rung twice in a row on the receipt. The item number is the exact same twice in a row.

I would go to the local TJ Max, take your items and receipt, and more than likely if they’re going to give you a refund they can handle it there . If not, they can at least tell you exactly what you need to do. Why depend on guesses when you can easily get the correct information. I would say to just phone them but I don’t think they would just take your word for it without seeing the receipt. There may be a problem because you can’t prove you didn’t buy two of the same items. I always check my receipts as soon as I’m out of the store, that way if something like what happened to you occurs the retailers are much more likely to correct the problem then and there. Thye date and time are on the receipt so they can tell you just walked out of the store,
