The new 2010 F-150 Raptor, born in Baja California and designed by the Special Vehicles Team Ford Truck (SVT) is built from the ground. Another Ford truck that is "Built Ford Tough" and stands up to its name, the Raptor is ready to tackle the wild terrain of the road running.

On November 25 2008, the Ford F-150 Raptor SVT R race truck 41'st survived the grueling Tecate SCORE Baja 1000, finishing the race in 25:28:10, which resulted in one third in after class.

As with any terrain face tell you the key to an off-road vehicle is its chassis, which is the suspension and that crisis. With the Raptor extravagant seven meters wide body of work with digital clay, first in the industry, long-travel suspension, a truck that is sure to draw little attention in or out of the road.

A track was extended from seven inches long of an F-150 standard, reinforced bases with re-suspended by only the coil springs front and leaf springs rear are what gives the Raptor's impressive front / rear suspension articulation of 11.2 and 12.1 inches respectively. The pattern SVT in the control of aluminum Weapons are another cool feature. But the real magic lies in the massive, three-phase internal bypass shocks from Fox Racing. On the road, the Raptor is much more soft, emerged as the four-wheel drive F-150 in which it is based, with the crisis that keeps the body moving around during transitions.

In every corner reinforced disc brakes (13.8 front, 13.7 in the rear), surrounded by 17-inch alloy wheels 35 inches and specific SVT every inch BF Goodrich tires ground. Differential with 4.10:1 gears turn the rolling heavily, and the rear axel sports an electronic box that can spool the two wheels together for maximum traction. The two-stage system, electronic stability control also has a special discount of the road so that raises the threshold of yaw and antilock brake intervention, sharpens throttle response, re-maps of the six-speed automatic to hold more rallies, and allows differential lock to stay on until the vehicle speed. A hill decent control system helps to limit the speed, while crawling from the steep hills.

The Raptors most striking feature is that it behaves much like an F-150 newspapers in the road. Braking performance is respectable and cushion extra suspension makes the ride less compatible with common rear axle hop download pick-ups.

The F-150 standard cab is mostly very well reinforced sports seats and a steering wheel contoured to keep the support and comfort while driving. Other details include white faced SVT and dashboard indicators mounted controls for off-road electronics and auxiliary power switches. There are other very cool details, including skid plates, heat extractors on the hood and fenders, bumpers hydroforming and LED marker lights in the grille and wheel arches. Available colors are limited to orange, black, blue or white.

If you are really in power and speed you want to wait until early next year when a new head 6.2 liter V-8 will be available, packing around 400 horsepower.

Ford says the Dearborn truck plant will be up to 5000 more or less a year Raptors and that there will be plenty of accessories high performance available in the near future.
